Whitelist
Hello, I have been now and then been updating the Tibia wiki during the last years, but still I am not "whitelisted". What does it take to become "whitelisted"?
(Jag är också svensk)
Lukotibak (talk) 20:49, August 19, 2015 (UTC)
Hey Lukotibak. Very few people have been whitelisted, although there's no reason why you can't be whitelisted. Unfortunately it seems all JavaScript files are locked until Wikia deal with their recent security issue. All edits, even from new editors, will become trusted after a few days; the warning just allows us to warn the user about possible vandalism that hasn't been dealt with, giving us time to deal with it. -- Sixorish (talk) 01:13, August 20, 2015 (UTC)
Maybe we can disable (put comment tags around it or something) the warning javascript when it's possible to edit js again? The vandals have stopped for some months. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 09:07, August 20, 2015 (UTC)
Outfits 10.82
Hey Bennie!
I just came back home and was planning to add new outfits to outfiter, but as I could notice in the recent activity, you've been taking care of the new sprites just few minutes ago, so to avoid double work, may I ask you what else are you going to add?
Thanks,
Cauli92 (talk) 21:01, September 30, 2015 (UTC)
Not the outfits or mounts (you can do them), only the new items I could find. Which is only a 52 frames animated mask. Amazing, I think CIP never made an item with so many frames. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 21:03, September 30, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah indeed, pretty impressive! But it wasn't made by Cip :P
These two items are obviously fansite prizes and I'm sure Hunter can verify which fansites they belong to on their internal forum - I'm too lazy to browse through all contests from last months :D
Thanks for the info concerning mounts! I was wondering if you could also make the sprite changes page? If it's necessary(more than few items), of course.
Cauli92 (talk) 21:13, September 30, 2015 (UTC)
Ah, you are probably right. Well, it's done. I managed to move frame 45 and 46 by one pixel first, had to redo those. Now I'm seeing moving stuff everywhere, but it's probably in my head.
I'll take a look if there are sprite changes. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 21:29, September 30, 2015 (UTC)
Wow, do you mean to tell me you were cutting them manually one by one? I can't see any errors concerning the sprite btw.
Cauli92 (talk) 21:58, September 30, 2015 (UTC)
Code review
Hey Bennie,
Just a reminder that when we change code in any MediaWiki: JavaScript pages as you did on MediaWiki:Custom Scripts/VandalWarn.js, we need to click the shiny yellow review status button so that Wikia can make sure we didn't do something crazy. -- Sixorish (talk) 03:38, April 12, 2016 (UTC)
RE: AF
Hello! Done. Let me know if they will break thro this filter.
Kopcap9418:00, 11/5/2016
- Hello again. That was interesting since filter catch edit via test. Probably they just break through due to some problems with some special page. Changed filter to match something else. Should be fine for now. If they will do it again - let me know!
Kopcap9420:06, 16/5/2016
Hi, Bennie!
A user recently nominated Tibia for inclusion in our gaming footer program. Would you be interested?
Best regards,
Raylan13 (talk) 17:55, May 20, 2016 (UTC)
- I'll add it momentarily ;) No worries about other wikis - participants just have to do what they're already doing, namely being a welcoming presence on their sites! Raylan13 (talk) 15:54, May 21, 2016 (UTC)
Dread Intruder
Hello, I saw your editing on Dread Intruder "adding bestiarytext and immunities from tibia.com". It seems the description about immunities on tibia.com is wrong. I kill them every day with stoneshower runes. They are definitely not immun to earth damage. Gaasmoos (talk) 17:55, June 27, 2016 (UTC)
That is strange but possible. Maybe it's best if to email support@tibia.com so they can fix the website. You can revert my edits back to what you know is correct from your experience. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 18:43, June 27, 2016 (UTC)
Bot
Hey Bennie,
Are you using scripts/programs to make edits under User:469Bot? If so, how are you doing it? -- Sixorish (talk) 05:09, June 29, 2016 (UTC)
Hey Sixorish,
Yes, I downloaded a program called AutoWikiBrowser. After setting up tibia.wikia.com as wiki in the preferences and logging in with username and account, you can make a list of pages on which you want to do edits, e.g. all pages in a certain category. Afterwards you can select what kind of find and replace you want to do, since you can use regular expressions this is quite powerful.
I also noticed it automatically does some cleaning up, such as changing dates formatting. Right now I use it semi-automatically, by manually checking and accepting every edit, but it can be set up as a bot.
What did you use for User:SixBot? -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 10:39, June 29, 2016 (UTC)
I just wrote JS scripts that communicated with the API. -- Sixorish (talk) 03:27, June 30, 2016 (UTC)
Gewen
What are your reasons for thinking Gewen is male? He/she looks emphatically female to me... -- Wouterboy (talk) 22:54, July 28, 2016 (UTC)
Just the parameter gender which said male, but the outfit looks amazon/female like, indeed. I'll change it. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 07:49, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
Template:Infobox Book
The book infobox template contains an error, apparently. It doesn't accept the input for the author parameter. Could you take a look at it? -- Wouterboy (talk) 16:18, July 31, 2016 (UTC)
Oops, thanks for spotting this mistake, I fixed it. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 16:53, July 31, 2016 (UTC)
Awesome, thank you! -- Wouterboy (talk) 17:29, July 31, 2016 (UTC)
Portable infobox conversion project
Heya Bennie! Man, I gotta tell you I've been doing portable infobox conversions all around Wikia, and I've never seen anything like the organisational skill you've been showing off here. Seriously, very well done.
If you'd like some help finishing up the rest, I'm happy to offer my services. Maybe it would speed things up for you if I did rough drafts and you took care of approvals? I don't want to interfere with your process, but I know how tedious it can be doing the basic coding of these things. So if I can be of assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. — CzechOut 16:38, August 15, 2016 (UTC)
Hey CzechOut,
Thanks for your praise. I think I have done the bulk of the conversion I wanted to do, there are some infoboxes left which already look quite ok on mobile devices and it is therefore not so important that they are converted. My main reason for the conversion project was to have one uniform design for all infoboxes and get rid of some old html tables which looked bad on small screens.
But I will keep your offer in mind if at some point in time I decide to convert the rest. Thanks! -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 07:15, August 21, 2016 (UTC)
RE: Thanks
I certainly hope so! Let me know if the issue isn't fixed within a few hours (due to caching) and I can have another look. Mark (talk) 20:40, August 22, 2016 (UTC)

Spirithunters Slime
Does the Squidgy Slime that gets triggered to appear during the Spirithunters Quest give any experience? -- Wouterboy (talk) 10:47, December 27, 2016 (UTC)
Dunno, I didn't test this myself. I don't think so though, this squidgy slime just replaces all instances where a slime is summoned. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 11:05, December 27, 2016 (UTC)
I know, but if it does yield experience, we need two Squidgy Slime pages. If it doesn't, then it is clear that Cipsoft treats summoned creatures and triggered creatures the same and that Angry Demons therefore logically shouldn't yield experience either. -- Wouterboy (talk) 15:19, December 27, 2016 (UTC)
Melting Frozen Horror Loot
Hey Bennie, I saw that you edited the Melting Frozen Horror loot recently and there is Icy Culottes added in there. I was wondering if you have any proof of that or anything because while I heard it mentioned somewhere, I have yet to see anything myself. Just wondering if it is just the rumor written down or there is proof I don't know about. Thanks!
GIFs: Can Knockdown, 24442, and 24443
Bennie, could you please...
- ...upload all pictures for the Can Knockdown GIF separately? The picture where all ten are standing won't be necessary, because Red X and Green X are always in the way there. The other nine should be named Nine Cans, Eight Cans, Seven Cans, Six Cans, Five Cans, Four Cans, Three Cans, Two Cans, and Can (all of these are possible after 'throwing', so all need separate pages).
- ...combine 24442 and 24443 in such a way that an actual in-game string is recreated? That picture should be called Colourful Bunting (Flags). Treating it as one item is the best way to go (similarly to what you did with Buttress (Wooden), for example). -- Wouterboy (talk) 18:27, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
Ok, sort of did that. I just logged in to Tibia to check, but the cans have no name. And the Market Stalls are all named just that. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 20:44, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
Thank you.
Yeah, the market stalls are all named market stalls. I did observe different names for different piles of cans, however.
Also, should we create a page for Ten Cans? The sprite is obviously there, but no character can ever actually 'see' it because the crosses are always in the way.
And another thing: do sprites 24497 and 24489 actually occur on their own? I could only see them sitting on market stalls, but they are not named in such cases. -- Wouterboy (talk) 21:09, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
Mm, interesting. Where did you click when "looking" at the cans, to see their names? I think you can add a page for ten cans, even if it isn't visible in-game, just for consistency.
Yes, those sprites occur on their own, but maybe they simply were never implemented separately. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 21:38, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
Hovering over the left side of the can-knockdown market stand with an action key pressed highlights the left side, but doing so for the right side highlights the pile of cans (or the cross if the whole set-up is still standing) and allows you to 'see' that instead of the right side of the stand (which can only be 'seen' this way once someone knocks down the whole pile).
Also, I think that adding a page for ten cans would actually be quite inconsistent, since we've never created an item/object page for something that cannot actually be 'seen' by a character. Our best move would probably be to create three separate pages for the crosses and use the ten cans as the 'backdrop' to their pictures. This way we still acknowledge the existence of the sprite without using it for an unjustifiable page.
One thing I find interesting about the two sprites I was looking for separately is that they are the only two sprites on any market stand that are not overlapped by anything else (the blue and purple lampions, for instance, are slightly overlapped by one of the uprights). Could this be the reason that they occurred separately inside the sprite files without occurring separately in-game? -- Wouterboy (talk) 22:21, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
Ok, sounds good to make the 10 cans sprite with crosses.
I really don't know why these sprites occur separately. If they can't be related one-to-one to objects in-game, we can just delete them. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 09:30, January 8, 2017 (UTC)
Market Stands
I don't think it's such a good idea to create Market Stand pages based on the colour of the canopy; firstly because you were apparently unable to find three of them in the sprites (blue, orange, and a lighter green), and secondly because the differences in colour are quite irrelevant in relation to the whole object. I propose we ditch the four canopy-based pages and replace them with Market Stand (Food) and Market Stand (Festive) (and thereby keep to the essentials). -- Wouterboy (talk) 13:58, January 14, 2017 (UTC)
I wasn't unable to find the other colours in the sprites, but at first I decided to take the ones looking south, so to say, like we usually do. Although in this case it would make sense to include those as well.
So you propose to have only two articles, with multiple colours per article? -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 15:34, January 14, 2017 (UTC)
Only the two articles, yes, but I'm of the opinion that colour shouldn't come into it at all in this case. The colour of the canopy does not crucially change the object; it's just something added for variety. The most we should do is acknowledge on the pages that both stands can come with several colours of canopies. -- Wouterboy (talk) 18:44, January 14, 2017 (UTC)
Ok, I agree with your reasoning. I'll move and merge the pages soon. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 21:06, January 14, 2017 (UTC)
Pinata Dragon loot statistics
Hello! i have some loot statics on Piñata dragon that i would like to add but it doesent work for me.
(i have changed it so it says 18:44 Loot of a Piñata Dragon: 3 candies
but when i try to upload it to the statics it says "name of creatuers doesent match(1)" any ideas how to fix it?
i got 63 kills of em that i would like to add or shall i send the logg to you? thx Ranjiit (talk) 14:37, January 21, 2017 (UTC)
This is because of the n with a curly thing on it. I'll try to fix it and let you know when it's fixed. A possible work-around would be to change the loot messages to: "18:44 Loot of a Pinata Dragon: 3 candies" with a normal n and then move and merge the output manually. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 15:31, January 21, 2017 (UTC)
Actually, the problem was with the information already on the page. It should work now, I tested it. If it doesn't work, can you put the log here? -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 15:38, January 21, 2017 (UTC)
Hello Bennie
Hello dear Bennie
wanted you to ask, in the section of imbuing, all the weapons and armors etc appear
I saw "book of lies" didn't have the imbue slot registered at wiki, I added it, and it doesn't appear at the imbuing section at "Imbuable Spellbooks" don't know how to add it, and in the future how can I add items that are not registered as imbued
Thanks :)
You did everything correctly, it sometimes just takes a while for DPLs to update visually. -- Wouterboy (talk) 17:34, February 17, 2017 (UTC)

Bot task
Hey Bennie, are you still running User:469Bot?
I was changing up Template:Infobox World/Links when I realized that a lot of pages actually don't use it anymore because we've moved that information to the infobox. But if we're storing that information in the infobox, we might as well move it to the page itself.
So I was thinking, your bot could take in Template:Board ID/World and Template:Board ID/Trade and move the information to the world page itself. For example, Antica might have:
- | worldboardid = 25
| tradeboardid = 9
This means that normal users can edit the template without the fear of creating unforeseen consequences to other pages. It's also a lot easier to check for the case where no board ID is recorded.
While on it, the bot could also remove any uses of Template:Infobox World/Links, because it is just duplicating information now. -- Sixorish (talk) 14:06, April 19, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, sure. I'll take a look when I have more time. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 17:14, April 19, 2017 (UTC)
Ok, it was a bit more work than what I had done before, but I learned some new tricks on the way (like pasting columns while holding Alt in Notepad++). -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 20:32, April 21, 2017 (UTC)
Featured Wiki Videos
Hey Bennie. I'm Julia from FANDOM's Community team. By now you may have seen our announcement about Wiki Modernization and how we're using featured wiki videos to reduce the number of ads on the site and improve the performance of all FANDOM wikis.
As we move forward we plan to have wiki videos in many communities, with Tibia wiki being a candidate for videos. If you are interested in which video types we might use you can find some great examples in this blog post. We are working on several ways to involve users in the video creation and script writing process. If we start producing videos we may reach out to you, other admins, and users if we think you can be involved in the production. At that point we will provide further information.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Springteufel (talk) 11:27, June 21, 2017 (UTC)
Template:Infobox Corpse
Hey Bennie,
I saw you added the look text to Template:Infobox Corpse. Shouldn't weight be added to the look text too? Also, there is an extra space before the full stop for corpses with no volume as The Dead Glitterscale.
Could you add lightcolor and lightradius parameters for each stage to the template? Slain Mutated Pumpkin is going to use them.
What should we do for corpses that "change" their name while they're decaying? Special monsters that share their outfit sprite with ordinary monsters, like some bosses, may also share the last corpse stage(s) with them. I believe this is the case for The Dead Glitterscale and The Dead Heoni because I could find only one ID for each of them. It would be nice if someone could check it ingame. All you need to do is wait them till they decay once and look at them. If it says "a dead dragon" or "a dead wyvern", my theory is confirmed.
My suggestion to approach these issues is to simulate how the game works. Each item ID would have its own specific page using Template:Infobox Item, be it pickupable/movable or not. Corpses would have parameters such as decaytime and decaysto. For items that resulted from a decay, as intermediate corpse stages, we could have decayedfrom. Parameters decaysto and decayedfrom would link to the respective articles; (clickable) images could also be displayed. Nevertheless, corpses could have general pages which would list all related corpse stages with their image, weight, volume and decay time.
Hunter of Dragoes (Talk · Contribs · Admins) - 02:35, July 3, 2017 (UTC)
Hey,
I didn't add weight, because you only see this after a few seconds when you can pick up the corpse. Also, the weight changes for the different stages, so I figured we should go with the original, initial, look text. I know about the extra space, will fix it later when I have time.
Sure, I'll add the parameters.
I didn't know corpses could change their names, I'll try to see this in-game later.
That sounds like a lot of work, I'm not against it per se, but would rather spend my tibiawiki time on other things. Corpses are not so important and the way we solved it right now suits me. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 17:35, July 3, 2017 (UTC)
Ok, I just killed those creatures.
You see the dead glitterscale. 2 minutes and 30 seconds later... You see a dead dragon (Vol:52).
and
You see the dead heoni. 2 minutes and 30 seconds later... You see a dead wyvern (Vol:20).

Portable infoboxes
Hey again Bennie! :) I notice you still have a few outstanding infoboxes to convert to portable code. As I said to you once before, I'm seriously impressed with the organisational skill you've brought to conversions. Tibia Wiki is one of our most-frequented communities, and we really wanna make sure that you're able to leverage the system you've set up to finish all the infoboxes. Are you hitting any roadblocks that are preventing the final ~10 infoboxes from being completed? Is there anything we at FANDOM could do to help? -- CzechOut 18:44, November 3, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks :)
I replaced our old and outdated infoboxes using html tables. I didn't replace those final ~10 infoboxes since they use quite modern html and css for their layout. There is no pressing need to replace them except for being a bit more mobile-friendly and having standardized everything.
So thanks for reaching out, but I personally am totally fine with our current situation. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 19:21, November 3, 2017 (UTC)
Enable Discussions?
Hi there Bennie! I noticed that your community was not yet using Discussions, our Forum feature replacement we developed for our communities last year. We realize your community does not currently use Special:Forums but please consider allowing us to enable Discussions anyway, as it provides more benefits to your community than it's predecessor. We have already switched all new communities to Discussions and are manually enabling it on established communities who are interested in having the feature available for their users.
Discussions is a feature that users can use to post questions, thoughts, images, links and even videos. They can upvote posts and even share them on social media. Users can edit their posts for the first 24 hours, but Admins and Moderators can edit posts anytime. Users can report posts they feel do not comply with our guidelines, or that of the community. Admins and Moderators can remove them. We give you the tools you need to monitor reported posts and users that report them. Since the introduction of Discussions, we have seen a pretty big increase in community interaction. You can find more information on Discussions here.
Let me know if your community would like to have Discussions enabled on the community and the app. I would be happy to take care of it for you. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.Jamie (profile)•(talk) 20:26, January 4, 2018 (UTC)
Hey there! Just checking in to see if you guys are leaning in a particular direction. Let me know what you're thinking. Jamie (profile)•(talk) 23:44, January 17, 2018 (UTC)
I thought I replied already? Maybe I forgot. Anyways, I don't think this will benefit our community. Thanks for reaching out though! -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 15:10, January 19, 2018 (UTC)
Wiki Manager
Hi Bennie,
I thought I would reach out to you, since you are one of the administrators here. I have recently been appointed as the Wiki Manager for this wiki. I am here to assist this community in an official capacity and act as a liaison between you, and full-time Fandom staff. If you, or any other users of this wiki ever have an issue or question related to the wiki (editing, templates, wiki design, or any other matters related to Fandom), please feel free to contact me on my message wall, and I will assist in any way I can.

Discussions
Hi Bennie,
I noticed this wiki doesn't have an area for users to communicate that is integrated into the wiki (ie. forums/discussions), and I am curious if it has ever been talked about. There is the wiki discord server of course, but users need to log onto that separate platform to have any type of community discussion related to Tibia. The Discussions feature can be enabled on this community, if you like. This feature has gone through a bit of an overhaul recently and is now integrated into Fandom's "feed" feature. It offers a streamlined and simplistic landing page option where users can easily join in the latest discussions related to the wiki's subject, and the side-bars offer places for community announcements, rules, and auto-generated suggestions of other content on the wiki that they may want to explore while they are visiting this wiki.
This feature was designed from the start to be very mobile-friendly, unlike some earlier wiki features. Since discussions can offer users an additional place to spend time on a wiki, it can often encourage more activity on a wiki, which is better for the community in general. It's also nice for users to have as easy a time as possible discussing aspects of their favorite games. Discussions are neatly organized into topics, rather than users having to scroll through an un-ending chain of discord responses to find the relevant discussion.
Is the discussions feature something this community may be interested in having enabled? You can find more information about it at these links:

Spanish Wiki Revival
Hi! I'm currently working to help Spanish Gaming wikis, and like you currently know, like this community the Spanish Tibia Wiki is one of the biggest. Unfortunately, it's currently abandoned, and although there are some people editing it doesn't have admins and a built community to going forward. I've also seen that you already helped that wiki in the past.
During these next days, my priority will be update its content and Design, plus adding some current features that the wiki didn't add in the past. Additionally, I'll be contacting its current users and readers in order to encourage them to edit and build a new community together.
As Fandom wikis are typically working together across languages (and Tibia wikis are an example for that), I'm contacting with all of the admins of this community that already helped the Spanish one to share that news. With your permission, I'm using some content and assets from your wiki to adapt them easily for the Spanish one. If someone of you don't agree with that, please feel free to mention and I'm building it from the scratch.
Besides that, all the help that I could receive from your community will be hugely welcome. For instance, I'm not sure if some of your current readers or editors also know and speak Spanish, and they just chose that wiki because is bigger and active. If you already know some of your editors that also speak Spanish, please report me in order to talk with them and also contribute with the Spanish wiki.
Thank you very much for your attention! --CuBaN VeRcEttI (Contacta) 11:47, June 10, 2019 (UTC)
- No problem in copying stuff. I don't speak Spanish so I can't help. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 11:52, June 10, 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick reply! I really appreciate it. Perfect, it's not a problem at all, and I suppose that almost all of the users here don't speak Spanish. It was kind of a suggestion or comment, that if you already know some featured user here that also speak Spanish, will be really welcome on the Spanish counterpart.
- I'm helping the other wiki the best as I can, and if I have some comment, request or suggestion, I'm talking with you (+ the others, as easiest for all of you). Thanks for all! :) --CuBaN VeRcEttI (Contacta) 12:02, June 10, 2019 (UTC)
Linux client page edit
Hey I was trying to add a section to the Linux Client page with the following info.

This issue is related with the polling rate for the mouse you are using. If you are using a gaming mouse with variable polling rates research how you can change this (normally through your mouse manufacturer's software). Should be set to 125Hz to avoid any issues.
But I do not have permissions to edit the page. Could you add this info to the page.

Main Page Improvements
Hi Bennie,
I would like to make some modifications to the wiki's main page to fix some problems related to the wiki's SEO optimization. Namely, the description for the wiki, essential to informing users what the website is about, is not being properly passed onto search engines' summaries for the site. This is because the main page element which describes the wiki is placed within a table element, and search engines often choose to ignore content within table containers when selecting what to use for a website's description.
You may have noticed some recent staff blogs on Fandom's community central which follow the theme of best practises for modern wikis. One of the guides makes the recommendation to not place a lede within a table element, as it tends to cause complications. It looks like a large portion of the main page uses tables to format the content, but I believe more of a stacked layout approach could accomplish nearly the same visual appearance, without introduing the complications that table containers cause ("div" containers are fine).
There are some other elements of the main page that could be improved at this time, if you're interested. Some main page sections take up a lot of "prime real estate", but haven't actually been used by the wiki in several years, if ever ("this week" and "tip of the month" sections). I am not sure whether there's a reason to have entire sections of the main page dedicated to these, rather than maybe including each as a link within the wiki's top navigation (considering this wiki's main page is very text-heavy to begin with).
Anyway, rather than me doing an overhaul of the main page without talking to anyone, I thought it best to involve you and the other administrators in this discussion, since you are integral members of this community. If you desire, these modifications can be left up to you and other members of the admin team, but I am also willing to help out, if you are open to me doing so. I'm also happy to discuss any of these topics further, but please let me know what path you'd like to take.

Hey Sitb,
Sounds good, I agree tables are not the way to go to structure a web page anymore, you might have noticed this main page design is about 13 years old ;)
Please go ahead and do any improvements, maybe on Main Page/Proposal or something. Or I am willing to endorse other people in doing these changes. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 12:53, November 3, 2019 (UTC)
Sure thing! I've been re-working some other wiki's main pages lately and I make a point of putting together a test page/sandbox before updating the main page itself, just so admins can critique the example, or modify it themselves if they like. I'll use the link you created above for this and let you know when I've got something to a state where it's ready to be discussed.

Hello again Bennie,
I now have the Main Page/Proposal in a state where you and the other admins can begin to take a look and offer feedback about the proposed improvements, or further modify it yourselves, if you desire. So far, I have:
- Modified the wiki's welcome note/description at the top of the page and removed some problematic code to improve the wiki's SEO
- Removed several boxes/sections from the main page that are outdated and/or have never been used at all since their creation
- Replaced the lengthy "Popular Articles" section with a series of more-compact navigational buttons within a new section/box titled "Game Topics"
Note: Disregard any overlapping of content you see on that test page, as well as the third (right-most) column being displayed. Those will not appear in that way if these changes are implemented on the wiki's main page. Also, the left column will be wider on the actual main page than how it looks on the test page. If implemented, the columns will appear at the same width ratio you're used to seeing on the main page (with a wide left column and a narrow right column).
Would you like to speak to any of the wiki's other administrators about these changes and possibly discuss them among yourselves, or should I point them each in the direction of this thread/test page and have that conversation here?

Hi Bennie,
This is just a reminder/poke to to see if you (or any other administrators who want to weigh in) are satisfied with the proposal. Am I safe to implement any or all of those proposed improvements to the wiki's main page?
- Sitb (Message Wall / Talk page) 17:17, December 3, 2019 (UTC)
Sorry, I had a quick glance at it and it looked okay. I took a look again and I really like the 'game topics' box. Let's implement it, if it needs changes we can always tweak it. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 20:33, December 4, 2019 (UTC)
No problem. The main page has been updated! 😀

Community Connect 2021
Hi Bennie,
I'm wondering if you're US-based, and if so, would you be interested in attending Fandom's community connect 2021? (it's a virtual event this year).
Staff are in the process of compiling a list of users across Fandom/Gamepedia who might be interested in attending.
(More info about community connect: https://connect.fandom.com/wiki/Community_Connect )

Hi Sitb,
I am not US-based and to be honest, not so active anymore on this wiki, so I don't think I would be interested to join. Thanks for asking though! Appreciate it :) -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 10:25, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
The Monthly Opt-In and Invitation
Hello there!
If you haven't already and are interested, make sure you opt-in for emails about The Monthly. There should be an email with info on that.
If you have opted in, be on the lookout for a new email about March's Monthly times and the new survey! Will has been making some tweaks to the event this month and he's excited to have you join him, if you can. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by MannedTooth (talk • contribs). DPL Performance Improvements: Testing Next Week
Hello,
In recent weeks, our engineering staff has been reworking some code of the DynamicPageList (DPL) extension in order to correct a bug and, by extension, dramatically improve query performance, speeding up article page load times.
We are intending to push that change live on your wiki Monday, May 13th. This change should be invisible - the actual wikitext nor the visual output of DPL queries is expected to change. We are confident this should be a smooth rollout due to testing we did prior to this stage. However, as your community is one of the largest on Fandom using DPL, I wanted to proactively inform you of this change so you can be on the lookout for any unexpected problems.
If next week you notice any sort of unusual issues with DPL, please report them immediately through Special:Contact. You can refer to "PLAT-8725" in any bug reports to help us more efficiently triage the concern.
Thanks! --TimmyQuivy (help forum | blog) 16:11, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Hi, I tried to edit the table to add the "Premium" column, but the attempt failed. I assume it's protected. I would appreciate it if you could add that column to the table.
