Template talk:Infobox Corpse

User:Hunter of Dragoes proposed the following improvements here.

Name Type Description
Adding weight to look text Feature request Every stage has its own weight. If the look text would be displayed for every decay stage, the weight could also be shown for every decay stage.
Extra space Bug There is an extra space before the full stop for corpses with no volume, (example: The Dead Glitterscale)
Changing name while decaying Feature request Instead of showing one name, show the name as it changes with every decay stage. (Examples: The Dead Glitterscale changes to "a dead dragon (Vol:52)" after one decay stage. Furthermore "the dead heoni" changes to "a dead wyvern (Vol:20)" after one decay stage.)

This template has outlived its usefulness IMO. For example, corpses are just a category of items with a special (not unique) property that they eventually decay into some other form or vanish entirely. It would be better to incorporate all information into Template:Infobox Item and create a separate category for corpses. Each decay stage would be its own page. As far as I am aware, decay times are not per-creature, but per-corpse. Two creatures that share e.g. the Dead Minotaur item ID would similarly inherit the decay times of a Minotaur's.

I believe the original argument to have corpses as separate are no longer applicable. Firstly, Category:Items is massive, there's no way anyone would want to search that category manually. Secondly, we mostly stopped worrying about page sizes, preferring to separate pages on the basis of some internal identifier (e.g. item ID).

Problem #1, #2 would be fixed by converting corpses to items, problem #3 would be solved by separating them into multiple item pages.

I agree with Six.
