One question: This page is for voting, or only objections? (i.e, do we support their application or just oppose?) -- Sixorish 21:14, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
I'm not really sure. I've seen how administrators on nl.wikipedia.org were reviewed every year(?), people could vote in favor or against, if enough votes the admin kept his rights. But having real "honest" votings would require a big community, otherwise only a few votes will be cast, making it not really fair. I think both supporting and opposing comments can be made, but I'm open for any ideas. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 07:52, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
I have seen the same process on other wikis as Bennie described and that would be difficult here. I think first see how many are interested in the position then possibly set a starting number limit of rollback users. If not all can get in then evaluate based on credible edits and time spent on the wiki. I am fairly open to who can get in at first but revoke this privilege quickly if it is misused or abused. --DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 15:19, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

I would like to apply, i know a little about english and tibia and am willing to learn what is necessary concerning html language and the css style. I would like to help tibiawiki with my free time, which i have quite some lately. I even undone the vandalism done by Drukarka and Wodofil in a few dozen pages, what made me realise the preview mode did this job quite time taking.
While it took me half hour to undo all the vandalism of one of those users Bennie managed to undo the hundreds of vandalism the other one did.
I wouldn't like to make it public what is my char in tibia to prevent people to take what is done here too personal and avoid edit wars too, but if it is relevant i can mention it, also i got 5 years of continuous playing to offer.--Maguu 17:56, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
If no further objections are said your application is approved. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 18:56, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
User:Beejay
Well, I guess I can try and apply. Unfortunately after next friday I will have less time for wiki, so someone else should probably take the job instead of me. I know some (very basic) html, which I've mainly learnt from trial and error. I can do it better than I can explain it anyway and I know "enough" about wiki markup and the site's layout to get the job done/find out what I need to know if I don't. As long as there is someone active incase of vandals I'm happy enough.
- Anyways, congrats Bennie! :) beejay 18:58, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
For you too, if no further objections are said your application is approved. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 18:56, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
User:Kwigon the sharpshooter
Yes I want to be in this group to do rollback, love to skip the preview, I been here for like 3 years on this wiki doing good edits, I wont go crazy undoing all people edits, so add me to this group, thanks in advance.
--Kwigon the sharpshooter 03:08, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
I've no problem with this, if I had implied such before. Just stating to avoid potential conflicts in the future. -- Sixorish 05:13, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Ok, you are approved too. Keep up the good job on testing weaknesses, I think a lot of people benefit from knowing it. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 15:25, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

i want to apply for becoming a rollback. i want to apply so i can help tibiawiki to stop all vandalism that people do. i know little english and have been playing tibia for 6 years now, i know alot of tibia since i play most of the day. So i think i may help reverting all those vandalism. i have been learning about wiki markup with the help of other wikis and this one of course. i would love to help this wiki in my free time, i care alot So i wish you guys gave me the opportunity to join the group of rollback i havent been active because of personal issues but now i am back to help and make this wiki grow with everything i can. Starygurl 21:58, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
A quick glance over your contributions show no sign of reversion. I fear you may not be experienced enough to take on the role of a rollbacker. In most cases, a rollback is not the desired action to be taken. In fact, the only reason I see it as necessary is when those trojan-spammers are present, as rollbacking genuine but merely mistaken edits is unfavorable.
Rollback is designed for speedy reversion of many edits. It allows you to revert without confirmation, and subsequently this means you will be unable to give a rational explanation as to why his or her edit was reverted. It can also imply that their edits were unwanted, and may deter their future presence in the community. For this reason, you do not have my support on this. If it so happens that you are denied rollback, I doubt your application will hinder your future chances as long as you can gain experience in areas where the role is applicable.
On a further note, I have suspicions that you are the wiki incarnation of the Devil. Your initial edit added 666 bytes to the page source, and there can be only one explanation for this anomaly. -- Sixorish 23:02, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
Mmm, at first I had not objection but Sixorish' comment made me thing about it. Starygirl, did you know that the word "i" is usually capitalized in english, like "I"? Well, I'll wait for possible further input until tonight but personally I don't have a lot of objections. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 07:48, August 4, 2010 (UTC)
- I think she deserves to be a rollback-er as I've seen her contributing to this wiki for years now. If anything this position should be a sign of gratitude towards regular memebers; for one, the power is that spectacular and secondaly, it's a step up the next rung towards more administrative powers. I think it'd be nice to make a shortlist of people who could become admins if any of us died, or something to that effect, and that's what the rollback list could be. I also really hate spammers.
Craggles ಠ_ಠ Talk ∙ Contribs 11:15, August 4, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, I thought about it, read Craggles' comment and you are approved :) ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 17:39, August 4, 2010 (UTC)
@Craggles: I thought she deserved it on the same basis when I read her application. Her contributions page doesn't show her editing for years however, so I think I was (and you are) mistaking it for someone of a similar name. I don't think rollback should serve as a shortlist for adminship. While I can see many of those on the list becoming admins soon, the position was implemented here with the advent of necessity, not merit. It raises our dependency on Bennie / Whitelaces / Erig, being the only ones able to demote them and remove mistrusted power. -- Sixorish 19:56, August 4, 2010 (UTC)
- Seems I was thoroughly mistaken Six. God knows for whom I was giving credit. My others points still stand. I agree it ISN'T a shortlist for prospective admins however it will correlate. Gratitude is a keyword and a little give back from the admins to the power-users is nice. My only qualm with stary on present evidence is now the grammar, lack of. I say let him in, can't cause too much damage surely.

I figured I would apply because I find myself sitting for hours refreshing the "recent changes" page. I am always on the lookout for vandalism and small errors and just recently I have found myself on this site more often.
I know english, it's my first language. I am (attempting) to teach myself html code, though I will learn through experience here, and I am still mastering the art of wiki markup. I've been playing Tibia for over 7.5 years and am still an active player. I've also been on TibiaWiki for a long time.. not sure the year count though I never was very avid at editting before, I have improved on that and hope to continue with it.
I hope you consider adding me to this group,
Thanks,
Also! A side note: I was thinking of applying to be an Admin eventually. But as of right now I understand that I am not ready to even apply for it, nor am I quite informed on all of the duties. I do plan on learning more and applying when I feel I have a chance. Maybe I need to build a bit more of an edit count and give myself some more time to prove my activity. Maybe I'll apply after that :).

Sorry for continuously editting, also would like to add my current learning of php... lol
I'm learning through trial and error with php, html, and sometimes c#. Not the best programming abilities but basic to say the least!
I'll stop adding to this and let you all have at it.

I don't have any objections. Even if you have just got back into editing you are making good edits and are being helpful. Beejay 19:58, December 15, 2010 (UTC)
Seems ok to me as well. When we made this rollback group I thought a lot of people would try to join it, but this has been proven wrong. In other words, the few people who take the trouble to even consider applying, will get in without a lot of trouble. I'll wait for another day and add you if no further objections are made. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 20:23, December 15, 2010 (UTC)
I can honestly say I had no idea that it existed before I stumbled over it looking at group rights. Surprising that not many people are applying, maybe because they, too, have not seen it. Or maybe they just don't care.
Thanks for the kind words, Beejay, and I hope to see myself here soon :).

I wanted to request permission to become a Rollback User. I have played Tibia for almost four years now, and even though I'm only been a free account all those years I feel I am very knowledgeable about Tibia, especially of the free account areas.
I know not changed prices for items based on server prices, and to revert and report vandalism when I find. I also speak and type prefect english. ^_^
I hope I am considered,
Regards,
Hello Jake,
This seems ok to me, you have been around for a while now. I'll wait for another 1-2 days in case anyone has objections, but otherwise you're accepted. -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 13:40, December 27, 2010 (UTC)
"even though I'm only been" ... "I also speak and type prefect english". I've got no objections

Nice. Also no objections, you've been here helping for a long time. Beejay 15:50, December 29, 2010 (UTC)
If I get such an honor, then I believe that Jake should, too. † Myst Leingod – ₪ Talk ₪ – Contribs † 18:57, December 29, 2010 (UTC)
So no objections but a English grammar mistake? Then I'll go ahead and add Jake to the Rollback group. Welcome! -- Bennie (talk ~ fellows) 13:32, December 30, 2010 (UTC)
I am honored that so many of you think so highly of me. Thank you very much. ^_^

Have a nice time! ^^ ~ Vapaus 15:41, July 25, 2011 (UTC)
Since I suggested he apply it is of no surprise that I approve of this. He has plenty of good edits, seems knowledgeable of MediaWiki wikis, has reverted lots of vandalism and knows how to act if he makes a mistake. -- Sixorish 16:49, July 25, 2011 (UTC)
I've got no objections, it's the same reason for which I applied. Beejay 17:25, July 25, 2011 (UTC)`
I have no objections either. Welcome, Vapaus, keep up the good work!

Hello,
Today for the 4th time.. I saw ppl making vandalism on tibiawiki. The "bad user" was putting hack links, and I got a little mad for can't 'undo' or protect that page for the ppl stop editing, so I talked with a ADM and he solved the problem. I discovered that I could apply here for have this function 'Rollback'.
I love tibiawiki, I like to post new things, photos etc..., I started Tibia in version 7.1 and I love the rolleplaying, making quests, addons...and tibiawiki helps me a lot. So I try to help to, adding new stuff...
I also a staff from the fansite, Funtibia.com, I'm responsible for this part of editing and formating. And I like to make that things, so I could help the tibiawiki too. I'm Brazilian, but I also know a little of Spanish and have a advanced skills on English.

Kariel Win, I guess the main reason your application is not being taken seriously is because you haven't really had much experience using TibiaWiki or wikis in general. But here are some comments that may help you improve and maybe become a rollback one day.
- First of all note that rollback doesn't give you rights to undo an edit. All users can view the history of the page and all users can revert vandalism. It doesn't require rollback, it just makes life easier for cases where large-scale vandalism has been committed.
- There are some cases where rollback should not be applied, and that's why you need to have consensus before you gain rollback - we need to know if you can suitably use the functions and not abuse it where a simple reversion would suffice.
- Your signature contains copyright information, however, the whole point of the wiki is that it is under a free-use license and you can't really reserve any rights for the content you upload and anyone else can edit it as they wish.
- Some edits you have made show that you are not experienced enough to use rollback as it's designed to be used. Such an example is this where you replaced a vandalized page with a custom message, when you could have gone to the history page and undid his edit to restore it properly. As said, you do not need rollback in order to combat vandalism...
