Light Effects
I added information on light effects. I think this is the best way to get screenshots of items or objects.

My little opinion.. :p
So Ive downloaded Gimp and had a little play around learning how to use it. I think the screenshot guide could be split into two, one part being about screenshots of houses etc. with a guide on the kinds of images that are wanted and not (maybe a guide for suitable names) and the other half an npc picture guide which has step by step instructions with images, like it has for the first part of the guide now. Last thing, I think that it is rather difficult to find this guide (I always go to building - talk page to find this page) maybe there could be a link on the upload image page or something?
This is my first try making an "npc-like" picture, I didnt think about dont stretch-shrink because it was just a picture I already had, I changed the format to .gif when saving with gimp, the quality isnt perfect on it..any ideas on how I could improve? :)

How to improve it? You probably can't, having the stretch-shrink thing is the MOST important step when making a screenshot (along with good light). You probably had a difficult time erasing the background? You will see this is way easier with the stretch-shrink option on, also because tibian sprites tend to have a black "border" around the npc/object/item so it easy to see where the image starts and the background begins. About making a better link, it has a link on some other help pages I believe. About rewriting/dividing it, you are completely right, I will have some thoughts about it and try something later this week. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 20:10, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Look on the left side of the screen under the search box and Items, Creatures, etc. There are six blue links including Help which is the central page containing Help:Screenshot_Guide and other helps. --DM ><((°> Contribs <°))>< talk to me 19:00, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Revamping it
Ok, I don't know how much people actually read this guide and if it did help them but when I just read it I think it is ready for a little revamp, since a lot has changed since it was first created (and it kinda sucks right now). First of all I think this are the main subjects which need to be covered:
- Making NPC images.
- Making Object/Item Images.
- Making House/Guildhall Images.
- Making map images.
There are 2 options: cover them all in one page split into chapters or make separate pages for them. Since this can always be changed I will choose option 1 for now (to not create a big unwanted page mess). Any suggestions are welcome. ^^ Bennie (talk ~ fellows) ^^ 09:39, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I think your idea is good and a map guide is something we need, I just made the picture for Bertram, it wasn't easy and most of the outline was green and the npc is on grass.. And I hadn't realised that you changed the guide a little, I have just have been practicing doing it by memory, so unless someone uploads a better picture for Bertram I will try again next time I am in liberty bay.. Maybe bring a white tapestry to put under the npc :) unless you think it would be best not to. beejay 20:48, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
I think you are doing a good job, at least you started trying. The picture looks like it has a little poor quality though, I suggest to NOT use the .jpg format at all, in your process of making the picture (don't know if you did that, but that might explain the poor quality). Thank you :) yes I saw that you suggested putting the picture into png format on the guide, but I only saw it after I had finished the picture so next time I will be sure to remember that. As far as I can tell all looks fine, great work Bennie on the alternative outfit guide! And to Daniel Letalis for making Outfiter! :) It is probably asking too much of whoever can do it/what is possible, but is there a way to cut out the saving to computer and uploading it? Such as simply using the image's link, I've tried but I dont know what to do with "Data:". beejay 17:38, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
This guide is very nice, about making direct links to the npc generated images, it would be perfect but, it's not possible inside wikia and using an external php host is not possible because wikia doesn't allow external images. --Daniel Letalis 23:44, February 8, 2010 (UTC)
Well I can live with how it is, just would have made the job a lot easier if it worked!
Anyways, I came here to ask about map making images, and I know this part isn't yet complete but I was wondering how to make the "snow" in svargrond white with the Tibia Map Viewer? I read on someones talk page about how to do it but I couldn't find what I needed to change.
PS: It seems as though wikia updating has caused the Outfiter buttons to go a bit strange (also the "leave a new message" at the bottom seems to have an issue). beejay 14:24, March 17, 2010 (UTC)
