Method

A new steamship travels between Kazordoon and Thais, but the path is flooded at Sunken Mines, near Kazordoon, here. Special pumps have been brought in to drain the water, but they need coal to operate. Apparently the remains of a sunken dynasty of unknown age is covered under the water and can be accessed when there is enough coal to drain the area.

Bring 202 nuggets of coal to Dronk and use them on any of the three Water Pumps down the mines. Once enough coal have been used, the pumps will start working by themselves, which means the mines will be opened at the next server save.

The day after there is enough coal the entrance will be revealed and you can enter a dungeon populated by Deepling Scouts and access the steamship. This steamship is different than that found inside of Kazordooon, it can bring you to Thais, Kazordoon (the traditional steamship) or Robson's Isle.

Every day that the dungeon is open a certain number of Deepling Scouts must be killed, otherwise they will flood the whole dungeon again so you need to drain all the water anew if you want to gain access to the hunting ground and the steamship link. Besides Deepling Scouts, you may also find Groam in the mines!

Guide NPC Messages

You can ask any Guide NPCs about "Awash"' and they will say:

  • if coal should be handed in
Guide X: The mine tunnels under Kazordoon are currently flooded. Coal is needed to get the waterpumps running.
  • if enough coal is brought
Guide X: The mine tunnels under Kazordoon are currently flooded, but enough coal has been delivered to keep the waterpumps running. The tunnels should be dry soon.

Or, if the mines are open ...

  • ... and enough deepling scouts have been killed in the mine today;
Guide X: The water in the mine tunnels under Kazordoon is drained and enough deeplings have been killed today to ensure it remains that way.
  • ... otherwise, they will say this, and if at server save not enough deeplings have been killed, the mines will become flooded (inaccessible) again.
Guide X: The water in the mine tunnels under Kazordoon is drained, but deeplings are trying to flood the mines again. If not enough are killed today, the tunnel will be flooded again.
  • ... and after 5 days, if not enough deeplings have been killed, the mines will become flooded (inaccessible) again.
Guide X: Too many deeplings survived during the last five days, they will flood the tunnels and nothing can stop them.
