The following items you will be given by NPC Rafzan. If you lose them before completing the task you will need to purchase more from him.

Tips

Here are some tips for frequent taskers, to be more efficient in completing these tasks.

  • Unless you need the money, you can purchase Perfume Gatherers from Rafzan. The slug cave has 27-28 Slugs in it at full spawn; you can do a full circuit to supply yourself for the whole month, or however many you choose. This will save a lot of time. Note that you only need to purchase for the initial supply, as you will receive another empty one each time you accept the task.
  • The tasks Destroy and Busy both take you to the Venore Corym Cave. Save time by doing both tasks at once.
  • The tasks Guards, Kill, Advertising can be done together as the quest targets are all over the surface of the swamp. However, it's a bad idea to roam the swamp randomly. The Venore Daily Tasks Quest are additional tasks designed for lower levels. The reward isn't that great by itself, but the most important thing is that they provide direction. You will be going all over the swamp anyway, you might as well do the additional tasks. On doing the 3 Venore daily tasks, you should have no problems finding enough objectives for these tasks.
  • Consider digging for a Leech if you go to the northern construction site. You can do this once per week.

Method

Leave Venore from the eastern exit (go down here

). Leave the building and go east a few steps to find a ladder and/or ramp. This is the central construction site (Venore Daily Tasks Quest). Go to the north-eastern platform and down the ladder. Go east to find a fancy building. On the south side of the building there is an elevator (here
). Use the Pulley if the elevator is up, to bring it down. Now step on the elevator and use the pulley to go up.

Ask Rafzan if he needs help. He will offer you 6 tasks. In order to receive the tasks you must say get and then the task name. In order to report, say report and then the task name. For future references, you don't need to say "help", "tasks", "get" or "report", just the mission's keyword.

The following tasks are available:

You can repeat tasks every 20 hours. After 500 tasks you will receive the Task Manager achievement. You can do all six of the tasks of the Goblin Merchant Quest at the same time. It is highly recommended to accept all tasks you will do, to save time.

Business Opportunities

Reward: 1200 experience and 3 Platinum Coins
Notes: this is one of the harder tasks, involving exploration of the Corym caves.

Go to the Corym Caves, through a house north-east of Rafzan's building (here

). Look for Junk Trunks (they look like Large Trunks) and use your Trunkhammer on 3 of them. They will turn into Smashed Trunks. After completion, your Trunkhammer will disappear. When done, go back to Rafzan and report about your task.

Goblin Advertisement

Keyword: advertisement
Reward: 600 experience and 1 Platinum Coin

All around the Venore swamp are Cracked Stones. Use your advertisement signs on the stones. You can only do this once per stone in a given time. Three nearby places you can find cracked stones are here,

When done, go back to Rafzan and report about your task.

Guardian Angel - Kind Of

Keyword: guards
Reward: 600 experience and 1 Platinum Coin

You will be given a Guardcatcher which looks like a Bow. All around the swamp you will find Adventurers. Use the guardcatcher on at least three adventurers. When you use the guardcatcher, one of two things can happen: the adventurer can vanish (saying "Arrrgh! Not my knee!"), or the adventurer can become an Angry Adventurer (saying "You fiend! I will get you, servant of evil!"). When you've kneecapped three Adventurers, your guardcatcher will break (with the message "Luckily the makeshift bow breaks as you hit the last adventurer you needed and not earlier!"). Report back to Rafzan when you are done.

Hungry Birds

Keyword: kill
Reward: 600 experience and 1 Platinum Coin

All around the swamp you will find Marsh Stalkers. Kill 5 of them and report back to Rafzan.

Rattraction

Keyword: perfume
Reward: 1000 experience and 2 Platinum Coins

You need to get some odor samples. You will receive a Perfume Gatherer from Rafzan to collect the samples with.

  • The first odor you're looking for is special snail slime. Find the Venore Slug Cave,
kill a slug, wait 10 seconds and use the perfume gatherer on it. A message will appear: You gather the first part of the rat perfume!
  • The second odor you're looking for is from Black Swamp Gas, which looks like smoke, or Poison Gas colored grey. You can find these in a few places in the swamp, two such places are here
    • and here.
    Use your perfume gatherer on it. A message will appear: You gather the second part of the rat perfume!
  • The third odor you're looking for is a Rotworm fart. Go to any cave with Rotworms, such as here
    • Use the perfume gatherer on the rotworm repeatedly until you receive a rotworm fart. On failure, you will receive a message: Darn! It didn't fart!, and on success: You gather the third part of the rat perfume!. On average it will take about 3.85 attempts, but the rotworm does not vanish when you fail or succeed.
  • The fourth and final odor you need is that of Mouldy Cheese. Get mouldy cheese from Venore Swamp Trolls,
    • Goblins (rare), Corym Caves and many other places (daily respawns). The mouldy cheese can be obtained before the quest.

    Report back to Rafzan with the complete Perfume Gatherer (its description: It is filled with smelley goo.).

    To Piss Off Some Rats

    Keyword: busy
    Reward: 1200 experience and 3 Platinum Coins
    Notes: this is one of the harder tasks, involving exploration of the Corym caves.

    Go north-east of his building to the Venore Corym Cave. Once in the cave, go east and down the hole, then go far east to a pond (here

    ). Use the rat urine vial in the center of the pond (from a distance, like you would a fishing rod). A message will appear: The keen noses of the ratmen will smell the mark of their rivals!. Report back to Rafzan and claim your reward.
