Mana Sitting

Mana Sitting is simply standing in one place while your mana regenerates. People do this for many different reasons:

Mana sitting usually occurs near a depot or in front of someone's house or guildhall, since you then are near somewhere you can store food. However, manasitting can be done anywhere.

Sometimes people will mana sit for an extended period of time, usually AFK for part of the time, except to eat food and cast spells.

Before Soul Points were implemented in the 7.5 update, it was more common to find Druids and/or Sorcerers using illegal software while mana sitting and making runes. A large group of druids or sorcerers doing this was called a Druid Farm or a Rune Farm.

Since the introduction of Resting Area bonuses with Summer Update 2017, mana sitting has become attractive once again because of the permanent double regeneration.

Tactics

  • A good (and cheap) way to mana sit and make runes is to fish, eat the fish and make runes, though if you have no soulpoints left you will need to kill monsters.
  • Another tactic is to kill monsters that drop a lot of food, such as Rotworms, with a sword instead of a wand or rod. This way you can gain Soul Points at the same time as you manasit.
  • Once you have a streak of at least 6 days from the Daily Reward System, you can stay inside your House or most of the Depots while wearing mana recovering equipment such as a Pair of Soft Boots and a Life Ring or a Ring of Healing. This will double the item's effect and you will regenerate twice the usual amount of mana, halving the cost of magic level training using these items. If you have the 7+ days streak, the Soul Points regeneration will be fast enough to allow you to create runes such as Avalanche and Sudden Death indefinitely.
