Notes

Gaz'haragoth is a Demon Prince who was once in charge of overseeing Roshamuul, until the explosion of the Dream Catcher mutated him into his current form.

After a world breaks Roshamuul's wall, Gaz'haragoth is found on top of the mountain at the center of the island, and will remain there until it is defeated. Upon defeat, Gaz'haragoth is cast to the Roshamuul Prison lowest levels, where it will be imprisoned in a secure room. Even so, eventually he gathers considerable strength and can be fought again.

Before he appears, the following message is broadcast in white text to all players of the world he spawns in:

Gaz'haragoth will shatter your dreams in a barrage of nightmares!
Gaz'haragoth

Behaviour

Gaz'haragoth fights his opponents in close combat.

Gaz'haragoth has many announced abilities:

  • Gaz'haragoth begins to channel DEATH AND DOOM into the area! RUN! - Announced rarely. Five seconds after being announced, Gaz'haragoth will cast his ultimate attack. This attack always deals 30,000 Energy Damage. When he casts it, there will be another announcement: Gaz'haragoth calls down: DEATH AND DOOM!
  • Chill out! - Announced very often. When announced, Gaz'haragoth casts his explosion, which deals 1000 Ice Damage.
  • Minions! Follow my call! - Announced every time he is hit if he is not at his summon capacity. When he announces this, Gaz'haragoth will attempt to summon up to 2 Minions of Gaz'haragoth. It will fail if Gaz'haragoth has no room to summon.
  • Gaz'haragoth begins to draw on the nightmares to HEAL himself! - In about 8 seconds, Gaz'haragoth will heal himself for 300,000. When he does, another message is announced: Gaz'haragoth HEALS himself!

Strategy

Gaz'haragoth has a large energy UE, announced 5 seconds before its execution. He also summons multiple minions of Gaz'haragoth which act independently of him. Care must be taken while navigating Gaz'haragoth's lair, as the minions transform into Strange Vortices, leading to Gaz'haragoth's Nightmare.

The strategy to defeat Gaz'haragoth is similar whether he is fought on top of the mountain or locked in the prison. The primary difference lies in the player's levels, as the initial encounter will likely involve lower-level characters.

Luring and Trapping

  • Lure Gaz'haragoth to a corner, preferably near a ramp, to provide shooters with a quick escape route.
  • Trap Gaz'haragoth using Magic Walls and Wild Growth, leaving enough space for him to summon one or more minions of Gaz'haragoth.
  • Once trapped, kill the summoned minions to free the luring knight. On Open PvP servers, players can also pass through another player's wall.
  • After the knight escapes, fully trap Gaz'haragoth to immobilize him and focus all firepower on the boss.

Critical Phase

  • When the team has managed to defeat Gaz'haragoth's health down to 12.5%, he will use his nightmares to heal himself.
  • At this point, the team will have around 8 seconds to deal approximately 44,000 damage. Failure to do so allows him to heal for 300,000 HP.

High-Level Blocking

Knights of level 700+ can block Gaz'haragoth with the support of healers, but they must be ready to flee from the Death and Doom ability. The recommended strategy is to block him near a ramp, allowing shooters to move up and down easily. Ensure there is a vortex nearby to escape to the Nightmare. Be cautious of heavy Paralyze effects, which can make escape difficult.

Alternate Strategies

On low-population servers, defeating Gaz'haragoth before he heals may be challenging. Some announcements hint that the nightmares can be killed to prevent his healing. This approach may provide an alternate means to defeat him.
