It stays at a distance.
Spawns with 4 Sparks of Destruction. When a Damage Resonance spawns, any damage dealt to Rupture will heal Rupture for 5000 hitpoints.
Strategy
It is important for all members of the team to not use any utori spells on Rupture. Also recommend all member to stop attack right away when the Damage Resonance spawns. A clear indication of that is when Spark of Destruction spawn.
