- Bright Sword used to be one of the rarest items in the game.
- The item's sprite was introduced in Update 5.1, but it only became obtainable in Update 6.4 when the quest was introduced.
- When CipSoft changed the quest system in the Christmas Update 2003, it became a regular item since it was obtainable at level 45 through the The Outlaw Camp Quest.
- Until the Summer Update 2007, the bright sword was one of the best swords available on most worlds.
