Notes
It's one of the bosses in A Pirate's Tail Quest.
Behaviour
It doesn't move. A tentugly's head never retreats.
Strategy
Just focus on killing it when it appears, otherwise deal with its tentacles.
History
With the Summer Update 2022, a new version of Tentugly's sprite was added to the game files, with a complete body and without the clapboards around it. This was most likely done so the boss can appear in the Bosstiary with a better image than it would be if it showed up as it does during the actual fight. This version of Tentugly is not animated and looks like this:
How to get to it?
- 1Ground
- AEustacio, on the quay under the ships
Down from the harbour deck to the quay below it — he is the one running the war on the Pirats, and once you have met Tik'hi Tak'he he will run you straight to the island. The boat puts you on Rascacoon's western deck, and the small boat there brings you home.
Say to Eustacio:
hi→shortcutA Pirate's Tail Quest — Far enough for two separate things, and they are not the same currency. First 1,500 points with Eustacio at the Venore harbour, earned from Pirat Raids — ask him for an Orb and a Flintstone before you go, and about the location to find an active one. That is what makes him tell you about the passage, which the first time means the small shell just north of the Issavi depot and a cave through to the island; mind the pit-fall hole on the path north of that temple, because map-walking over it drops you onto Burning Gladiators. Then find Tik'hi Tak'he on Rascacoon's west side and earn 1,200 Trust Points from villager tasks — these are *spent* rather than merely reached: they buy a permanent enchantment that disguises you as a pirat for fifteen minutes each time you use the teleporter, which is the only way through it. Talking to him also opens the Venore boat this route uses, so the Issavi cave is a once-only trip. Ratmiral Blackwhiskers and the Hidden Treasure are further on and not needed.

Across the island to the south-east corner. This is the teleport the enchantment is for — it only lets a pirat through, which is what the 1,200 trust points bought.

- ACaptain Jack Rat and his lever — the route ends here
One floor up from where the teleport leaves you. Ask him to sail and he offers the crossing to the Pirats' hideout, with the sea monster in the way. Up to five players; the lever starts it, and you get eight minutes.
Say to Captain Jack Rat:
hi→sail→safe→yesOnce the tentacles come up, a tile with a tentacle poking through it is a tile about to have a tentacle in it. Standing there gets you "You had to leave the area because of strange events" and a trip back to the temple, which ends your run.
